Training

To submit agency training open to other agencies

Is it possible to post this on your website?  We already had this class cancelled last year, because we did not have enough interest.  I really want to be able to go forward with the class this year for those who are interested.

Thank you for your assistance.

HUDSON (NH) POLICE TO HOST CRIME ANALYSIS APPLICATIONS COURSE

JUNE 21 TO JUNE 25, 2010

The Hudson Police Department will host a Crime Analysis Applications Course from June 21 to June 25, 2010.  The course will be presented by Steve Gottlieb, Executive Director of the Alpha Group Center for Crime and Intelligence Analysis Training, and may be used for Certification purposes in the Certificate in Crime and Intelligence Program offered by the California Department of Justice and the California State University system.

This will be a "hands-on" applications course which takes a "learning-by-doing," practical approach to training. Students will actually perform the tasks associated with crime analysis work. Each participant will also receive a copy of Mr. Gottlieb's book, “Crime Analysis: From First Report to Final Arrest,” a textbook over 600 pages which explains how to design, implement, and operate a crime analysis program, and how to use a wide variety of analytical techniques to forecast when and where criminals are likely to strike again. Each participant will also receive a copy of Mr. Gottlieb's 150-page step-by-step “Crime Analysis Study Guide and Workbook,” which will be used throughout the class.  Tuition is $525.00 and includes the week of instruction, the text, workbook, and a wealth of handout materials.

To obtain a course brochure or to register for the course, please contact Jamie Iskra at the Hudson Police Department, 1 Constitution Drive, Hudson, New Hampshire 0305l, phone: (603) 816-2236, fax: (603) 886-0605, or email: jiskra@hudsonnh.gov. Additional information about the content of the course can also be found on the Alpha Group website at www.alphagroupcenter.com.

Chief:                                                            January 15, 2010

The Essex County Sheriff’s Department and the National Center for Women and Policing are proud to host the 15th Annual Leadership Conference in Salem, Massachusetts on June 8-11, 2010. We are pleased to join with the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) in bringing this important training opportunity to the women of Massachusetts.

The National Center for Women and Policing is the only nationwide resource for women in law enforcement, police agencies, community leaders and public officials seeking to increase the numbers of women in law enforcement, and to raise awareness of the value that women bring to policing. The theme for this year’s conference is Promoting Partnerships for Change. Our agenda features an impressive group of speakers from all across the country who will conduct workshops in areas as Domestic Violence, Cultural Diversity, Sexual Assault Guidelines, Recruiting and Retaining Women and Leadership.

We are all aware of budgetary constraints facing so many agencies both within and outside of Massachusetts at this time, but hope that you might be able to find a way to allow employees from your agency to attend this worthwhile training conference and networking opportunity. We view this conference as a value-added investment in your department, and look forward to seeing many of our partners in law enforcement in historic Salem in June.

Further information about this conference is available through the National Center for Women and Policing website at www.womeninpolicing.org. Also, you may contact the Conference Chairperson, Kimberly Jo O’Hara Prentice at either kohara@eccf.com or at 978-750-1900 extension 3520.

Very truly yours,

Frank G. Cousins, Jr.
Sheriff Essex County

My name is Joseph M. Doyle Sr., I am the Deputy Training Coordinator for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Programs here at New Mexico Tech. We offer a number of Programs funded completely by DHS. This means of course the programs are completely paid for the students that attend the courses.

Our two Resident Courses: 1. "Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings" (IRTB) and 2."Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombings Incidents" (PRSBI) are offered here in New Mexico. The funding for these courses includes the airfare, hotel, per diem, the course and the rental car. Literally everything is paid for but the students salary and/or "backfill".

The IRTB course is 32 hours and is held in Socorro, New Mexico and the PRSBI is 40 hours and is held in Playas, New Mexico. These are train the trainer courses and we hope and expect the students to return to their communities and share what they have learned. All instructional materials (Participants Manuals, Pre & Post Test, Certificates) are provided by New Mexico Tech at no charge.

We offer Performance level courses in IRTB and PRSBI which are four hours long and we have an eight hour Performance level course "Initial Law Enforcement Response to Suicide Bombing Attacks" (ILERSBA) . All are taught by our Instructors at your location. What you are asked to provide is 50 students per class and a location to hold the class.

Members of your Association can attend these NMT/DHS courses, and it's free. You can go on line at http://respond.emrtc.nmt.edu and see all the information I have stated above and even obtain the one page application and how to proceed with the process of attending. Or you can call Jim Lehner at (575) 835-5917 or jlehner@emrtc.nmt.edu for the resident courses or Richard Campbell (575) 835-5054 or rcampbell@emrtc.nmt.edu for the Performance level courses.  This training is truly current, timely and is mandated in most State's for it's WMD training information.
